Privacy Policy

WISE S.T. Global Inc. establishes and discloses personal information processing guidelines as follows in order to protect the personal information and to handle the related complaints promptly and smoothly.

Purpose of Processing Personal Information

Personal information shall be processed for the following purposes. The personal information processed shall not be used for purposes other than the following purposes. If the purpose of use is changed, the necessary measures will be implemented, such as obtaining separate consent.

  1. Membership Admission and Management
    Personal information shall be processed for the purpose of confirmation on intention of subscription, identification and authentication of users according to membership service provision, maintenance of membership status, prevention of unauthorized use of service, restrictions of use to violators of the Terms of Use, sanctions against behavior that has negative effects on the smooth operation of services, punitive measures against inappropriate use of services, various notice, grievance processing and the like.

  2. Provision of Goods or Services
    Personal information shall be processed for the purpose of service provision, billing, contents provision, personalized service provision, authentication of users, payment settlement, charge collection, etc.

  3. Use for Marketing and Advertising
    Personal information shall be processed for the purpose of developing new services (products), providing customized services, providing information on events and advertisements and opportunities to participate in them, confirming the effectiveness of services, understanding about the frequency of access, providing statistics on the use of services by members, etc.

Period for which Personal Information is Processed and Preserved

Personal information shall be processed and preserved within the period of preservation and use of personal information in accordance with laws and regulations or within such period agreed with the pertinent subject of personal information when collecting such information. Each period of preservation and use of personal information is as follows:

  1. Membership Admission and Management: Until the member withdraws. Provided, that in cases falling under any of the following grounds, until the relevant ground ceases:

    • If an investigation is conducted on violation of related laws and regulations, the relevant personal information shall be preserved until the pertinent investigation is finalized;
    • If a claim-obligation relationship exists with regard to service use, the relevant personal information shall be preserved until the time of the settlement of accounts.
  2. Period for which Personal Information is Preserved under a Relevant Act or Subordinate Statute

    • Time of subscriber’s telecommunication, starting & closing time, the other party’s subscription number, frequency of use & transmitting base station location-tracking data(Protection of Communication Secrets Act, 1 year)
    • Computer communication, Internet log record data & access location-tracking data (Protection of Communication Secrets Act, 3 months)
    • Records on indication/advertisement (Act on Consumer Protection in the Electronic Commerce Transaction, etc., 6 months)
    • Records on contracts or withdrawal from contracts (Act on Consumer Protection in the Electronic Commerce Transaction, etc., 5 years)
    • Records on payment and supply of goods, etc. (Act on Consumer Protection in the Electronic Commerce Transaction, etc., 5 years)
    • Records on consumer complaints or resolution of disputes (Act on Consumer Protection in the Electronic Commerce Transaction, etc., 3 years)
    • Records on personal location information (Act On The Protection, Use, Etc., of Location Information, 6 months)
    • Records on electronic financial transactions (Electronic Financial Transaction Act, 5 years)

Rights and Obligations of Subject of Information and Method of Exercising Them

  1. A subject of information may exercise his/her rights falling under any of the following Subparagraphs to protect personal information at any time with regard to WISE S.T. Global Inc.
    • Request for access to personal information;
    • Request to correct errors, if any;
    • Request for deletion of personal information; or
    • Request the suspension of personal information processing
  2. A subject of information may exercise his/her rights as specified in Paragraph 1 in writing or via email or fax, and WISE S.T. Global Inc. shall take appropriate measures immediately.
  3. If a subject of information has made a request to correct or remove erroneous personal information, WISE S.T. Global Inc. shall not use or provide pertinent personal information until the correction or removal is completed.
  4. The rights under Paragraph (1) may be exercised through a representative of the subject of information such as a legal representative or an authorized agent. In such case, a power of attorney shall be submitted.

Items of Personal Information

  1. Membership Admission and Management

    • Mandatory items; email address and password
    • Optional items: address and telephone number
  2. Provision of Goods or Services

    • Mandatory items; Payment information such as name, date of birth, username, password, address, telephone number, email address, credit card number, and bank account information, etc.
    • Optional items: fields of interests, details of past purchases
  3. The following personal information items may be automatically created and collected in the course of using internet service.

    • IP address, cookies, the time of visitation, service use log, defective use record, etc.

Destruction of Personal Information

  1. WISE S.T. Global Inc. shall destroy the pertinent personal information without delay when it becomes unnecessary for reasons of the lapse of preservation period and the achievement of processing purpose.
  2. If personal information needs to be continuously preserved in accordance with other laws and regulations even though the preservation period of personal information has lapsed or the processing purpose has been achieved, pertinent personal information shall be transferred to a separate database or a different storage place for the purpose of preservation.
  3. Procedures for and method of the destruction of personal information shall be as follows:
    • Procedures for the destruction of personal information;
      WISE S.T. Global Inc. shall select the personal information that has the reason to be destroyed and destroy it with the approval of WISE S.T. Global Inc.'s Privacy Policy Manager.
    • Method of Destruction of Personal Information;
      WISE S.T. Global Inc. shall make sure that personal information recorded and stored in electronic files cannot be restored at the time of destruction and that documented personal information shall be shredded or incinerated.

Privacy Policy Manager

  1. WISE S.T. Global Inc. shall designate the Privacy Policy Manager who takes charge of dealing with the privacy policy, resolves related complaints and relieves damage as follows.

  2. A subject of the information may contact the Privacy Policy Manager and the department in charge for any inquiries about the protection of personal information, settlements of complaints and relief of damage with regard to the use of WISE S.T. Global Inc. services (or business). WISE S.T. Global Inc. will respond to inquiries and take the appropriate measures without delay.

Measures to Secure Safety of Personal Information

WISE S.T. Global Inc. takes the following measures to secure the safety of personal information:

  1. Self-audit shall be carried out regularly (quarterly) in order to secure the safety relating to handling of personal information;
  2. We shall designate and restrict the persons-in -charge who may handle users’ personal information to the minimum extent;
  3. Password of a user shall be encrypted, stored and managed so that only the user concerned can know it;
  4. Necessary measures to control access to personal information shall be taken by granting, changing, and revoking access to database systems that process personal information;
  5. Documents containing personal information shall be stored on secure storage with security system; and
  6. Procedures for controlling access to the system that manages personal information shall be established and operated.

Revision of Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy is effective as of November 1, 2017.
